It dawned, and I didn't see it happening

I woke to the unsynchronized sounds
Of the morning prayers being called:
'God is great; come to prayers'
And my head was heavy
With the tangled memories
Of last night's dreams.
I managed to pick one or two,
And others I forgot as I tried to remember...

Then I prayed,
Loud enough to hear what I am chanting.
Hearing the praises of your Lord
With your own words and sounds
Helps revive the abundance of
Love that you have in your heart
For The One.
The One who is
Not anywhere, but everywhere at once...

Then I looked for the longer socks
Ones that would cover the back of my feet,
So that they wouldn't hurt through my shoes.
Many times did I wear the short ones
And I regretted;
Even in wearing socks, we've to decide.
Then I played my favorite music
Through my warm sounding earphones,
And off I went...

As I stepped out, the dusk hadn't lifted yet
And as I walked on the roads,
It seemed like the evening before,
But with less people, less traffic,
Ergo with more room to walk slowly;
Noticing every detail:
From the bird's nails
To the beggar's peaceful faces,
From the gloominess of the job-people
Riding in their respective vans,
To the alacrity of labors
Running for the buses to reach their work-spot
Where they'd sit to be picked up for work...

It was yet dark as the music changed pace,
And its upbeatness matched
The spread wings of the eagles flying - majestic!
Then it turned soft and synced
With the serenity of the clouds of different colors;
Then my eyes welled up as I looked behind them
For God -
And I imagined this BIG, WIDESPREAD Being
Watching over me, over that old man
Over that fast-walking lady, over that boy my age.
As I paid attention, my prayers continued
For I kept seeing and kept praising
The mightiness of the Almighty...

And at once did I realize,
It wasn't dark anymore!...
It had dawned, and I didn't see it happening.
I was immersed in living lifefully,
Praying heartfully,
Listening earfully,
And seeing sightfully.
Such is the beauty of living:
You live -
And the rest happens itself;
The dusk itself, turns to dawn...
