Sorry for being a day late, but
here is this week’s 5BF where things globally aren’t looking as sound…
1: What I am reading
I’m reading Alcott’s classic book
“Little Women”, and so far, it’s been a pleasure. It‘s a book about a family of
four daughters, a working mother, and a father who is away. However poor and
needsome their situation might be, these little women along with their mother
makes up for their shortfalls by having the biggest hearts, full of kindness
and love. And that is the real riches one could ever wish for, isn’t it? 2020
has started with some very alarming situations, all of them man made, and this
book has been a sign that good people does exist and are fighting with their
quiet heroism.
2: What’s going on?
The tension between Iran and US
has never been as direct as it came to be after Qassem Soleimani was openly
killed on Trump’s orders. On the other hand, Australia’s bush fires have burnt
twice as much land as it has done in the past two years combined. And amidst a
reply from Iran, a Ukraine plane also crashed landed and 180 people died on the
spot, making the already tense situation even more flammable – if anything, we
must see and realize that our accumulated actions have now started to pour out
against us. We need more kindness, patience, concern, and room for harsh and just
conversations before we head for yet another long and slow-burn proxy war.
Otherwise, a world war three is the stoic way out of this – valar morghulis.
3: A real concern for our bad
times
Without real concern and passion
for being able to do meaningful things for our times that is suffering from its
own men, we would but remain a passive, indifferent, and unbothered viewer of
all the things that is happening around us. Understandably, we all are busy
feeding our own hunger, but when there’s a global threat, we need to, at least,
participate is showing some concern and in understanding the situations – for who
knows in the coming time, the world might need you to take the vital decisions,
so would you be wise, informative, and courageous enough to stand against the evils
of that time? We need to ask ourselves, very immediately, that we should and
possibly could do to participate in this war against evil, and most
importantly, get ready when the decision would come in our hands.
4: Some words on my going-to-be
2020
35 books, 12 to 15 courses of my graduation,
another summer, another winter, another birthday, two Eids, another month of
Ramadan, 12 months, 4 5BFs every months, many new articles, many new podcasts,
new people, new music, new movies, new failures, new achievements – and above
all a better me and a better world because of me.
5: Quote that’s been on my mind
“Truth maybe vital, but without love,
it is unbearable!” -anonymous.
Would you choose to be clever or
kind? This is the most urgent question we need to ask ourselves before we make
our conversations and tell someone else something necessary but harsh – let’s be
sympathetic. Let’s treat others how we desire to be treated back. A little less
pain, a little more love – yet it matters.
